A new milking parlour (24 stands swing over), new stables and everything in tip top condition. 200 cows are milked on this dairy farm and this farm is owned by a farmer and his wife who run it together.

The vacancy

Who are we looking for?

This job will suits you if:

you want a stable job for a long time
you enjoy working on a small scale
you are interested in dairy farming and share this passion just like the farmer and farmer’s wife on this farm

It is also possible to stay a shorter period on this farm, for like 6 month and start immediately but the farmers prefer a long term relationship with their new colleague.

Less or just a lot experience?
This job will fits you in any way if you have at least a basic knowledge of dairy farming.
You know how to handle cows properly and how to milk them. You have a good work attitude and mentality and the rest they will learn it you with love.
If you have a lot of experience, this is a perfect opportunity for a stable job in a modern and well-functioning environment.

For this position you have a valid driver’s license.
This farm is grass based and spring calving.

The work

What are you going to do?

All common activities on the farm, such as:

collecting cows for milking and returning them to the fields after milking
milking cows in a new 24 stands swing over
feeding cows
maintenance and cleaning around the yard
in calf season: feeding and rearing calves

The employment conditions

We offer this

salary depends on knowledge and experience. A guideline is between € 30.000 and € 40.000 gross annual
accommodation is included
cost like electricity, heating, WIFI etc. in not included
using the farm car
a good balance between work and life

You will find the farm in the area of Tullamore, Co. Offaly. This is 1 hour away from Dublin.
200 cows are milked on this farm.
