We are looking for a herd manager for a modern dairy farm with 420 dairy cows, located just outside Kildare Town. This is a modern dairy farm with excellent facilities and modern infrastructure. The farm uses the grass-based system and has spring calving cows. Each spring, all cows calve within 6 weeks at the same time.
A characteristic of this farm is that they have a progressive attitude toward farming and are looking for someone who is passionate in pursuing their career in dairy farming.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a herd manager for a modern dairy farm with 420 dairy cows, located just outside Kildare Town.
Duties include all aspects of herd management. The selected candidate is expected to take initiative and work independently. You will work closely with both part-time, full-time employees and the owner of the farm.
Dairy Farm Experience
For this position, you need to have dairy farm experience:
- as a all-round dairy farm worker and you have a great drive to learn and you are an initiative taker;
or - second in command or herd manager and looking to work on a modern farm with excellent facilities.
Own initiative
You are able to work at your own initiative, you know how to prioritise, and you are a good problem solver. You can identify the work that needs to be done and you make sure it is carried out with your colleague(s).
Drivers license
You also need to have a valid driver’s license. And off course, you need to understand and speak English.
